Type C

Belgium Schengen Tourist / Short-Stay Visa

Belgium is a full member of the Schengen Area. A single Type C visa lets you stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period across all Schengen countries, for tourism, family visits or business.

Processing Time

Typically 15 calendar days from a complete application; can extend up to 30-60 days during peak season or if additional checks are required.

Fee: 90 EUR

Children aged 6-12: €45. Children under 6: free. Fees are paid in INR equivalent at the VFS centre.

Validity

Up to 90 days within any 180-day period, multiple-entry depending on issuance.

Required Documents

Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond intended departure from Schengen area, issued within the last 10 years, with 2 blank pages
Completed and signed Schengen visa application form
Two recent passport-size photographs (Schengen specification)
Travel/medical insurance covering at least €30,000, valid across the Schengen area
Confirmed round-trip flight itinerary
Proof of accommodation (hotel bookings or invitation letter)
Cover letter stating purpose and itinerary of travel
Proof of sufficient funds (bank statements for last 3-6 months)
Proof of employment/business or student status in India
Civil status documents where relevant (e.g. marriage certificate for family visits)

Eligibility

• Indian passport holders travelling for tourism, family visits, or short business trips
• Not applicable for stays longer than 90 days (see national long-stay visas for work/study)
